Faton Popova (born December 22, 1984 in Stolberg ) is a former German-Albanian soccer player and current coach .

Career

Popova is a two-footed midfielder . He belonged to the youth teams of TSV Donnerberg (1992–1994), Alemannia Aachen (1994–1996 and 1999–2001) and Blau-Weiß Aachen (1996–1999), played for Roda Kerkrade among others in their Eredivisie team (2001– 2005) and at Borussia Freialdenhoven (2005/06), before he moved back to Alemannia and played there the 2006/07 season in the ranks of the junior team playing in the Oberliga Nordrhein , where he scored seven goals in 24 games. Already in the following season he joined the first team of Aachen and came to a second division , but he was still used in the second team (18/8). Despite a serious injury, Alemannia signed him for two years as a professional footballer . In these two years, the offensive man was mostly used in the reserve. For the 2010/11 season Popova received no new contract in Aachen and left the club. In 2011 Papova moved to Hertha Walheim , after only one season he moved to the national division SV Rott in 2012. From the second half of the 2013/14 season, Popova played at Kohlscheider BC in the district league and also completed a league game for its second combat team. He then ended his career as an active player at the age of 30 and began a career as a coach. After working as a youth coach at TSV Hertha Walheim from 2011 to 2012 and doing youth work at Alemannia Aachen between 2013 and 2015, he appeared in the 2015/16 season as the coach of the national division SV Rott. From the 2016/17 season he took over the district league team Sportfreunde Düren and is still working there as a trainer today (as of January 2018).
