The Kohlscheider BC (officially: Kohlscheider Ballspiel-Club 1913 eV ) is a sports club from the Herzogenrath district of Kohlscheid in the urban region of Aachen . The first soccer team played for a year in the then first-class Gauliga Köln-Aachen .

history

The association was founded on June 3, 1913. In 1922, the Kohlscheider SV Union, founded in 1919, and the FC Westfalia Kohlscheid joined the Kohlscheider BC.

Men's soccer

In 1931 the team made it to the second highest division. Finally, the Kohlscheider team reached the promotion round to the Gauliga Köln-Aachen in 1943, where they prevailed against TuRa Bonn together with the Bayenthaler SV . In the Gauliga the Kohlscheider reached the sixth place, but had to accept a 1:13 defeat at the champions KSG VfL Cologne 1899 / SpVgg Sülz 07 .

After the end of the Second World War , KBC reached the finals for the Rhine district championship in 1947. There the team was after a 3-0 playoff defeat against Siegburger SV 04 last and missed participation in the qualifying round for the newly created Oberliga West . For this Kohlscheider in the newly created took Rhein Bezirksliga part that was from now on the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine and two years later in division has been renamed. In 1950 KBC was last, but remained because of the introduction of the 2nd division national division . Two years later Kohlscheid was third and beat SpVg Frechen 20 10-0.

In 1956, the team qualified for the newly created Mittelrhein Association League, from which they promptly relegated. In 1962 KBC was only able to stay up in the regional league after a 4: 3 play-off win against Adler Büsbach before the club then had to relegate to the district class. In 1994, the Kohlscheider returned to the regional league and two years later they made it to the Mittelrhein Association. From this, KBC promptly rose again as the bottom of the table before the Kohlscheider had to go down to the district league in 2004.

Three years later it went down to the county league. It took until 2013 before the Kohlscheider were able to climb back into the district league. There the team managed to march straight through to the regional league thanks to the better goal difference compared to the DJK FV Haaren . After only one year, the relegation to the district league followed in 2015, which was followed by direct promotion. In 2018 it went back down to the district league, but this time the Kohlscheider were able to rise again directly.

Women's soccer

After a brief guest appearance in women's football in the 1970s, women's football has been back at Kohlscheider BC since the 2010/11 season. Two years earlier, coach Gunther Bücken joined a girls' team from Kohlscheider SV to Kohlscheider BC. This team then became the first women's team, which took 8th place in the regional league table in the first year. In 2011/12 the KBC women improved to 5th place. In the following season, some players were added and the team took first place in the 2012/13 season, which was rewarded with promotion to the district league. Again new players came and the team made it to second place in the 2013/14 season and thus made it through to the national league. In the 2014/15 season, the women were able to convince again and win the championship again with just one lost game. So they achieved promotion to the Middle Rhine League.
