The Fattigsmühle is a district of the municipality of Töpen in the Upper Franconian district of Hof in Bavaria .

The Fattigsmühle is located southwest of Töpen. In terms of traffic, it can be reached not only via the federal road 2 and the district road HO 2 via the Isaar district , but also by boat on the Saale . It is located in the Saale valley in a natural landscape.

history

The Fattigsmühle was once a knight's seat , then a mill . It dates back to 1677 and was a knight's seat called Der kleine Saalenstein. In the Middle Ages, the Dobenck family owned several properties in the area around Hof, for example in Rudolphstein and the Fattigsmühle. The Zedtwitzer nobility also settled there. The half-timbered house is very well preserved, the former mill is not functional, but has been preserved. The building and the adjoining room are under monument protection . Today the Fattigsmühle is a monument and a restaurant with a beer garden .
