The Fatu Maromak is a mountain on the outskirts of the East Timorese city of Same (Suco Letefoho , Administrative Office Same , Manufahi municipality ).
“Maromak” is the Tetum word for the highest being and is now equated with the Christian God. "Fatu" is the Tetum word for mountains with steep cliffs, as they are often found in Timor . Translated, the name of the mountain means something like "the mountain of God".
On the mountain there is a small shrine of Mary and a crucifix as a summit cross .
