The Faucigny region is a landscape in the former Savoy in the Arve valley and north of the Mont-Blanc massif . It roughly corresponds to the arrondissement of Bonneville in the French department of Haute-Savoie . The main towns in the landscape are Bonneville, Sallanches , Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and Chamonix . Faucigny owes its name to the 10th century castle of the same name, the ruins of which are located across the road between Geneva and Bonneville.
