The Faule Renne is a 5.1 km long stream that flows into the Schrote underground at Neustädter Bahnhof in the urban area of Magdeburg . The reservoir at Alt Olvenstedt and the Olvenstedter Röthe serve as the source . In addition, the Kleegraben is a tributary that flows underground through the Kritzmannstrasse . Together an area of ​​approx. 17 km² is drained. The name is derived from the Renneplatz near the source.

The source is located south of Alt Olvenstedt at the junction of Weizengrund and the B1 , into which the Olvenstedter Röthe also joins. From there it runs along the B1 to the Renneweg on the left. In the Neu Olvenstedt district , it continues to the left into the Rennetal and then to the northwest on the right on Langefelder Weg. At the corner of Am Neustädter Feld and Kritzmannstraße , the Kleegraben flows into the Faule Renne, from where it flows underground into the Schrote under the Magdeburger Ring to the south of the Neustädter Friedhof in the Alte Neustadt district at Neustädter Bahnhof.
