FeWas is a remote controlled weapon station developed by Dynamit Nobel , manufactured under license from the International Golden Group in the United Arab Emirates and used on Oshkosh M-ATV during the military intervention in Yemen since 2015 .

War weapons export license

In June 2009 the Merkel I cabinet approved the "export of weapon stations as well as assemblies and manufacturing equipment for weapon stations for military off-road vehicles and wheeled armored vehicles" to the value of 81 million euros.

Conclusion of contract

In 2009 at the International Defense Exhibition in Abu Dhabi , the International Golden Group from the Emirates signed a contract worth 215 million US dollars with Dynamit Nobel , which includes the import of finished weapon stations from Germany and the transfer of the technology for license production in the Emirates.

On June 13, 2018, a Yemeni army equipped by the United Arab Emirates advanced towards the port of al-Hudaida . The main vehicle is an Oshkosh M-ATV with a Dynamit Nobel FEWAS weapon station, which is believed to be operated by mercenaries from the Emirates.
