A fencing gauntlet , also English. Fencing Gauntlet, is a protective weapon from Europe.

description

A fencing gauntlet is made of steel . This type of gauntlet is usually made exactly the same as the usual gauntlet, with the difference that it is made more flexible than the other types. The structure of the hand and finger armor is made from more individual parts than usual. This makes the wrist , the hand itself, and the fingers more flexible. This mobility is important for fencing with the rapier or other fencing weapons, which was also the reason for this redesign. Such a high degree of mobility was not required for fencing with the sword . Many of these fencing gloves are made with high quality decoration (see photo info box), while others were also made simpler. Fencing gloves are usually made of leather covered with metal rings. A steel version was made to take advantage of heavy armor when fencing.
