Federico Moccia

Federico Moccia (born July 20, 1963 in Rome ) is an Italian writer , film director and screenwriter . His romance novels enjoy cult status among Italian youth . The custom of attaching padlocks (" love locks ") to the Milvian Bridge in Rome as an oath of love was triggered by Moccia's book Ho voglia di te .

Moccia's books have been translated into several languages ​​including German, English and Spanish. Some were filmed, but not shown in German-speaking countries. Moccia's fourth book, Cercasi Niki disperatamente , has only been published in Italian so far.

As the son of director and screenwriter Giuseppe Moccia, Moccia also tried his hand at directing and scripting a number of films, since 2008 regularly. As early as 1982 he had been assistant director for a film; later he worked for television before directing movies himself.
