Federschake

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The spring shake connects the spring package with the frame (solebar) on railway cars . The longitudinal expansion of the leaf spring is compensated for with different loads by the hooks .

After initially simple straps made the connection, later roller hooks were used, which could also accommodate lateral shifts. In 1894 rectangular hooks were used for the first time, which had better damping properties due to larger friction surfaces. From 1948, double hooks were increasingly used in freight wagons that were internationally standardized according to UIC . Here, two pairs of rectangular hooks are connected to one another by an intermediate piece and cause greater damping.
