Fritz Eichbauer

Fritz Eichbauer (born January 24, 1928 ) is a Munich-based construction company .

Life

Fritz Eichbauer passed his apprenticeship examination in bricklaying in 1948 after graduating from high school. Between 1948 and 1952 he studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich . In 1954 he took over the management of the construction company founded by his father Georg in 1925.

The Eichbauer construction company was awarded the BDA Prize in 1971 for a modern terrace residential complex in Munich-Ottobrunn. In 1977 Fritz Eichbauer received an honorary award for good housing construction from the state capital of Munich, and the Amalien-Passage project (architect: Jürgen Freiherr von Gagern) was honored as an example of exemplary old town renovation.

In 1967 he became a board member of the regional association of Bavarian building guilds. A year later his colleagues elected him president of this association. Eichbauer is honorary president of the Central Association of the German Building Industry for 22 years, from 1978 to 2000 he was its president. He is also the managing director of "Fritz Eichbauer Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG". Until 2003 he was a member of the supervisory board of the VHV insurance group.

Eichbauer is also known as the founder and owner of the Tantris restaurant . During his trips abroad, for example to France, he got to know and appreciate good gastronomy. He was annoyed that there was nothing like it in Munich and that the closest good restaurant was in Alsace . Finally he decided to take matters into his own hands and built the Tantris in 1971. He commissioned the architect Justus Dahinden with the planning . In the meantime, his son Felix has joined the management of Tantris.
