Feeny ( Irish : Na Fíneadha; German: "Woodland") is a village in Northern Ireland in the historic County of Derry in Northern Ireland .

The place

Feeny is located in the northern part of the Northern Irish county between the small towns of Claudy and Dungiven , 7 kilometers northwest of Dungiven. With Limavady, 20 kilometers away, and Derry City , 23 kilometers away , Feeny has good roads, but only limited public transport connections. Administratively it belongs to the District Causeway Coast and Glens and parliamentarily to East Derry .

The population of the place was determined in the 2001 Census with 542 people, of which 95.8% were Catholic and 3.7% Protestant; the unemployment rate (16–74 years) was relatively high at 7.8%. Only 6.6% of the population were over 60 years old. At the 2011 Census, the population was 690.
