Holidays in Luxembourg
Public holidays in Luxembourg are stipulated in Article 232, Paragraph 2 of the Labor Code .
Legal holidays
The eleven public holidays in Luxembourg are uniform across the country. As in most European countries, the church holidays Easter Sunday and Pentecost Sunday are not listed as public holidays, as they inevitably fall on a Sunday.

If a public holiday falls on a weekend, employees are given an additional day of vacation.
Other holidays
- Whit Tuesday (51 days after Easter) is a regional public holiday in Echternach and school-free nationwide (but usually falls during the Whitsun holidays anyway).
- Good Friday is a bank holiday , but not a public holiday.
