Feist-Belmont

Feist-Belmont is the name of a family from Alzey who played an important role in the wine and sparkling wine business in the 19th and 20th centuries . The connection came about through the marriage of Elisabeth Belmont to Stefan Feist from Koblenz , whose mother was a née Rothschild . There were also family ties to the wine merchant families Lorch and Reinach and to the banking family Oppenheim . August Belmont was one of the most famous family members . Other family members were August Belmont junior , Oliver Belmont and Perry Belmont .

The company's roots go back to 1795. In July 1908 the Feist brothers founded Feist-Sektkellerei AG, from August 1941 it was called Feist-Belmont'sche Sektkellerei AG . Today Feist Belmont'sche Sektkellerei GmbH , based in Trier, is a subsidiary of the Schloss Wachenheim sparkling wine producer .
