The Mousekewitz family has lived in New York City for a while now , and Feivel has a terrible nightmare during a summer thunderstorm in which a monster takes mice off the street. At first he suppressed the memory of it until a few days later Tanja took him to work, a newspaper publisher run by Mister Ried. There he hears of the rumor that a monster is roaming around in Chinatown. To prove that he is not a scaredy, he wants to find out the whole truth, the reporter Nelly Brie helps him. In the end, he finds a little poodle named Mushee, who leads a horde of street cats that the mice catch off the street. Together with his friends he can defeat them. Ried and Nelly fall in love in the end and Mushee is returned to its owner.

Publication and production

The film was first released in cinemas in Germany on December 9, 1999, in Great Britain on March 6, 2000 and in the USA on July 25. In production were the company Complete Post , Inc., TAMA Productions Co. Ltd. and Larson Sound Center involved. It was first broadcast on television on November 1, 2000 in Hungary and on April 4, 2005 in Germany. The film was released on DVD on October 6, 2005.
