Field chapel, Babenhauser Strasse in Winterrieden

The field chapel in Winterrieden , a municipality in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria , was built on the east end of the village on the road to Babenhausen . The listed building was built in the 18th or 19th century and is almost square. Inside it has a flat ceiling and projecting wall reinforcements in the corners. Access to the chapel is through an arched door from the east. The porch is more recent and rests on two wooden supports. The hipped roof of the chapel includes the building as well as the vestibule.

Inside there is a somewhat larger than life figure of a dungeon savior on the scourge column. The figure with a wound on the left shoulder dates from the second quarter of the 18th century. There is also a votive picture with the inscription Mary helped in the chapel. This shows a woman kneeling and praying in front of a Lourdes grotto with Mary .
