Location of the Faizabad military camp in Afghanistan

The Faizabad field camp was a camp of the German Bundeswehr in Faizabad , Badachschan Province , in northeastern Afghanistan .

It has been the location of the reconstruction team (PRT) since summer 2004. The camp was handed over to the Afghan National Police on October 9, 2012 , and the withdrawal took place until around October 20, 2012. In addition to the police base, a branch of the University of Central Asia of the Aga Khan Foundation is also to move into the area.

The camp included a hospital, church, post office, ATM, barbecue area, basketball and beach volleyball field, weight room and the beer garden “P8” and the “Tali-Bar”. The camp was also secured by soldiers from Mongolia .
