Feliks Juhan Kull , a native Felix Johann Kull (born January 21, jul. / 3. February  1903 greg. In Tallinn , Governorate of Estonia ; † 29. June 1942 in Norilsk , Soviet Union ) was an Estonian football - Bandy - and hockey player . During the Second World War , Kull served as a captain at the officer rank .

family

Feliks Kull was born in 1903 to Johannes August Kull and his wife Pauline Katrine Kull (née Kõll) in Tallinn , the capital of the Estonian governorate . He had two sisters and a brother. In February 1936 he renamed his two first names.

He first attended the Gustav Adolf grammar school in Tallinn. He later studied at the University of Tartu and was part of the student fraternity Fraternitas Estica .

From 1927 Kull was first a cadet student at the Sõjakool Military School in Tartu before he was promoted to lieutenant . In 1940 the officer rank followed as a captain in a cavalry regiment.

As a 20-year-old, Kull played in the Estonian Football Championship for ASK Tartu in 1923 . Between 1929 and 1931 he was active at JK Tallinna Kalev with whom he won the championship in 1930 . From 1939 to 1940 he played at Olümpia Tartu , where he won the championship again. In 1926 he won the bandy championship with the team of JK Tallinna Kalev . In 1936 and 1939, Kull was with the Tartu Akadeemiline SK champions in ice hockey.

death

Feliks Kull was arrested on June 14, 1941 after the Soviet occupation of Estonia in World War II. In December 1941, Kull was sentenced to death. The motives given were anti-Soviet, nationalistic and conspiracy. He died in June 1942 at the age of 39 in NorilLag in Norilsk .
