Felix Bauer

Felix Bauer (born May 27, 1903 in Deuben , † February 25, 1976 in Freital ) was a German ornithologist.

Life

On September 9, 1959, Felix Bauer volunteered to lead the ornithology and bird protection group of the Freital local group at the GDR Cultural Association, which had existed since 1951 . As such he was also responsible for the organization of around 250 group evenings and lectures and excursions. He has been active as a bird ringer since 1954 and is responsible for the fact that more than 20,000 birds have been ringed and several thousand bird observations have been recorded in an extensive file. His wife Erna Bauer supported him since 1952 as secretary of the specialist group.

For many years, Felix Bauer was a member of the district committee ornithology and bird protection in the Dresden district . He was also a museum adviser for the Haus der Heimat in Freital. In 1976 he died of a stroke.
