Felix Klingemann
Felix Arthur Georg Adolph Klingemann (born January 9, 1863 in London , † January 26, 1944 in Marburg ) was a German chemist .
biography
Felix Klingemann studied chemistry in Marburg with Theodor Zincke from 1882 to 1883 . He continued his studies at the University of Bonn and received his doctorate there in 1887 with the thesis On Knowledge of Aconitic Acid under August Wilhelm von Hofmann . In 1890 he completed his habilitation in Bonn and worked from 1894 to 1927 as an industrial chemist at Cassella AG . During his time in Frankfurt he became a member of the newly founded Frankfurt Burschenschaft Arminia , after he became a member of the Burschenschaft Alemannia Bonn and Burschenschaft Arminia Marburg during his studies . The Japp-Klingemann reaction he discovered together with Francis Japp bears his name.
