Felix McGrath (born March 13, 1963 in Princeton , New Jersey ) is a retired American ski racer . McGrath was one of the best slalom riders in the world in the late 1980s . In his home country he was voted Skier of the Year in 1988 and 1989 .

McGrath was a member of the US national ski team from 1982 to 1991. In his career he was a total of four times American champion in slalom and giant slalom. In the 1984/85 and 1987/88 seasons he won the overall and slalom classification of the Nor-Am Cup , and in 1987/88 also the giant slalom classification. He won his first World Cup points in March 1985. Overall he was among the top ten twelve times. His best World Cup result was a second place in the slalom of Åre in March 1988. In the overall ranking of the Slalom World Cup was third in the season 1987/88 .

McGrath took part in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , where he was 13th in giant slalom. His best placement at a world championship is 10th place in slalom at the 1987 World Cup in Crans-Montana .

Since the end of his active career, McGrath has worked as a trainer and lives in Norway . His son Atle Lie McGrath is also a ski racer.
