The Feller AG is a Swiss manufacturer of electro-technical products , headquartered in Horgen on Lake Zurich . The company is also present in Renens with a consulting and sales branch . The focus of production is on items for electrical installations such as sockets and light switches .
The origins of the company can be traced back to David Bollier , a trading business for electrotechnical articles founded in 1870 . In 1909 this company was taken over by Adolf Feller (1879–1931). The First World War and the associated import difficulties forced the company to diversify its production range . After the end of the war, Feller became one of the largest Swiss electrical engineering manufacturers.
After Feller's death in 1931, the company was converted into a family stock company by his widow Emma and daughter Elisabeth (1910–1973) . Elisabeth Feller took over the position of President of the Board of Directors of the company in 1955. The company remained family-owned until 1992, when it was sold to Schneider Electric , but remained operationally independent.
Feller AG employs around 450 people and achieved sales of around CHF 150 million in 2009.
