Femø is a Danish island in Smålandsfarvandet ( German : Smålandsfahrwasser ) north of the island of Lolland . The island has 110 inhabitants (January 1, 2020). The island is a maximum of 22 m high and is 11.38 km² in size. It forms its own parish Femø Sogn , which originally belonged to Harde Fuglse Herred in Maribo Amt and from 1970 to Ravnsborg Kommune in what was then Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into Lolland Municipality in the Sjælland region with the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .

In addition to the two villages of Nørreby and Sønderby, the island has a marina and a private runway for small aircraft.

There is a ferry connection to Kragenæs on Lolland, the crossing takes 50 minutes.
