Fender showmaster

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Showmaster is the name of an electric guitar .

The showmaster in 1998 was Fender's late reaction to the development of the so-called Superstrats . Built by companies like Ibanez, these state-of-the-art Stratocaster-like guitars had overtaken the classic Stratocaster.

After several unsuccessful attempts in the CBS era and immediately afterwards, Fender launched the Showmaster in 1998 . It had all the important features that characterize Superstrats: a more aggressively styled body with deeper cutaways , a modern, stable tremolo , two humbuckers or two humbuckers and a single coil as pickups and an elaborate finish.

The Showmaster series was commercially successful and is in production to this day. This success certainly contributed significantly to Fender's financial recovery after the spin-off from CBS.
