Fengli Su ( pineapple cake , Chinese  鳳梨酥 , Pinyin Fengli sū , taiwanisch : ông-LAI-SO王梨酥) is a Taiwanese pastry .

To produce using shortcrust or puff pastry . When using shortcrust pastry, it is shaped into sheets of pastry beforehand. A sweetened fruit filling made from pineapple and wax gourd is used in different proportions. Cuboid pies or cakes are typical , while it is also made as a large round or square cake that is decorated with auspicious patterns.

The pastries are traditionally eaten with tea and today also with coffee or as a sweet snack. Pineapple cakes are also popular as gifts on festive occasions or as souvenirs. The pineapple is considered a good luck charm in Taiwan, as its name "ông-lâi" is reminiscent of the Taiwanese name for achieving prosperity or well-being. Pineapple cakes are therefore popular gifts for weddings, births, birthdays, but are also used as offerings for the deceased.

More recently, pineapple cakes have become an export hit and, according to the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are the most popular souvenirs that foreign tourists take from Taiwan.
