Ferdinand Ertl (born April 12, 1877 in Hacking , Enzenkirchen , † April 9, 1952 in Vienna ) was an Austrian trade unionist and politician of the German Workers 'Party (DAP) and the German National Socialist Workers' Party (DNSAP).

education and profession

After attending elementary school , he went to a teacher training college and an advanced training school and became a teacher . He taught for a year before doing military service as a one-year volunteer . He then became a railway official and trade union official. During the First World War he was part of the railway regiment.

The DNSAP did not run for the National Council election in 1923 , but allowed the German-national unions close to them, such as the German Transport Union, to enter into an electoral alliance with the Greater German People's Party (GdP), and so Ertl was put on the electoral list. Although he was not directly elected to parliament, he was next on the list after the death of the Greater German MP Emmy Stradal in 1925.
