Ferdinand Marian (singer)
Ferdinand Marian , actually Ferdinand Haschkowetz or Ferdinand Haschowetz , ( May 22, 1859 in St. Corona am Schöpfl - June 9, 1942 in Eisenerz ) was an Austrian opera singer ( bass ), singing teacher and theater director .
Life
Marian, the son of a forester, attended the conservatory in Vienna after graduating from high school and after completing his studies went to work in Olomouc.
Then he was in Temesvar, Linz, Augsburg , Graz, Cologne, again in Graz and in 1896 was engaged at the Hofopertheater in Vienna, of which he was a member until 1921. In Vienna he sang mostly medium to small roles.
After leaving the stage, he worked as a singing teacher and director in Vienna, but then moved to Trofaiach in Styria.
His son was the actor Ferdinand Marian .
