Ferdinand Mayer (politician)

Ferdinand Mayer (born May 20, 1916 in Sitzendorf an der Schmida ; † October 8, 1991 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. From 1956 to 1962 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

After primary school, Mayer attended the agricultural training school and subsequently worked as a farmer. On February 1, 1939, according to the local NS group index, he applied for membership in the NSDAP , which took place on January 1, 1940. He was active in local politics between 1955 and 1980 as the mayor of Sitzendorf an der Schmida and was involved within the party as district party leader of the ÖVP Hollabrunn. He also represented the ÖVP in the National Council between June 18, 1956 and December 14, 1962.
