Ferdinand Stracke

Ferdinand Stracke (born May 27, 1935 ) is a German urban planner and university professor .

Life

In the 1960s and 70s, Stracke and Max Guther headed the “Guther und Stracke” planning office in Darmstadt. In 1975 he was appointed to the chair for urban development, housing and regional planning at the Technical University of Braunschweig . In 1988, Stracke was appointed to the chair of urban planning at the Technical University of Munich as the successor to Gerd Albers and was made professor of urban and regional planning. He wrote the Munich high-rise study.

Since 2002 he has been chairman of the Bavarian regional group of the German Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning .

In 2005 he was awarded the Leo von Klenze Medal for his achievements in urban development . He is a corresponding member of the Braunschweig Scientific Society .
