Ferdinand Weber

Ferdinand Weber (born February 28, 1812 in Kiel ; † December 15, 1860 there ) was a German physician and author .

Life

The father, Friedrich Weber (1781–1823), professor of medicine and botany at the University of Kiel , died when his son was only eleven years old. Ferdinand had been retired from Rector Rohde in Oldesloe since 1821 . He attended high school in Kiel from 1825 to 1831, the universities of Kiel, Copenhagen and Göttingen from 1831–36 , completed his habilitation in Kiel in 1842 and became professor of pathological anatomy there . In the fall of 1853 he met the poet Klaus Groth , with whom he had a lifelong friendship. After Weber's death, Groth published his Low German poems and wrote a High German poem as the "last gift".
