Player career
The beginnings
Ferdinando Coppola started his career at his home club SSC Napoli . There he played for three years from 1997 to 2000 before he was under contract for three more at FC Bologna . In Bologna, however, he remained without a single use in the league, as he had to show a very large competition in the Italian goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca .
Ascoli Calcio
In order to play more often, Coppola preferred to move to the second division Ascoli Calcio in 2003 . There he came in the first season, however, only one use, which is why he was awarded to the first division AC Reggiana after only six months . There he also only played two games, but he played the next season in Ascoli as a regular and was able to advance with his team. In the following season he played all 38 games in Serie A and contributed significantly to staying up.
AC Milan
In the meantime, some larger clubs had noticed him - the Italian top club AC Milan won the contract , where he became the third goalkeeper. Although he played several test matches with the northern Italians, the AC loaned him to the second division Piacenza Calcio immediately after his commitment . There he ran in all 42 games. In the next season, 2007/08, he was a goalkeeper on loan at the first division club Atalanta Bergamo . After his return to AC Milan, he was loaned to AC Siena for the 2010/11 season and rose to Serie A with Siena. The following year he played 22 games for Torino in Serie B, also on loan from AC Milan. Here, too, he succeeded in advancing. In the 2013 season he completed a game for Turin. For the 2013-2014 season he returned to AC Milan, but did not play a game for the club.
