The residential building at Ferdinandstrasse 4 is in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The building was built in 1898. It was entered under No. F 027 on September 7, 1995 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

In the northern urban expansion area directly in front of the former railway bridge spanning the Hermann Piecq facility , the three-storey three-window house stands under a gently sloping pitched roof with a two-storey extension. Horizontal structure through floor and sill cornices as well as a wide protruding eaves cornice with a pearl rod motif.

The vertical structure is done by the windows , which are evenly lined up and axially aligned one above the other . Above a basement with a joint cut, the ground floor, which is structured by strong imitation cuboids, with a deeply cut entrance niche (right). The smoothly plastered first floor is upgraded to a bel étage by strongly emphasized architectural parts; the second floor is more reservedly decorated with only flat ornamentation . All facade windows are uniformly rectangular; unadorned cut into the wall surface on the ground floor; on the upper floor accented by imitation aedicles (alternating arched and triangular gables ) and on the second floor framed with a shell crowned edging. The stucco ornamentation quoted is mainly taken from the Renaissance canon of forms .
