Ferenc Mező (born as Ferenc Grünfeld Ferenc March 13, 1885 in Pölöskefő , Zala County , Austria-Hungary ; died November 21, 1961 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian teacher, writer and Olympic champion .
Life
Ferenc Grünfeld was of Jewish origin, he Magyarized his family name. Ferenc Mező became a teacher and worked in Budapest.
At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 he won the gold medal in the art competition for epic works with his "History of the Olympic Games".
In the GDR he became known as the author of the work "Sixty Years of the Olympic Games" (published in 1956 by Sportverlag Berlin and Corvina Budapest), which was published in a second, improved edition in 1959 by both publishers under the title "The Modern Olympic Games" .
