Fernand Charpin

Fernand Charpin (born June 1, 1887 in Marseille , † November 6, 1944 in Paris ) was a French actor .

Live and act

Charpin has been on stage since the beginning of the 20th century and was a member of the Théâtre National de l'Odéon for many years . He was particularly successful here as Panisse in the trilogy Marius , Fanny and César by Marcel Pagnol .

To film this trilogy, Charpin was brought to film in 1931. His characters in other films resembled his panisse. He played the southern French farmer and mayor, the hostel father, shopkeeper, pastor and country doctor. Occasionally he was also able to portray negative characters such as the police spy and informer Régis in Julien Duvivier's Pépé le Moko - In the Dark of Algiers .
