Anton Bömly

Anton Bömly (* 1808 ; † 1874 ) was a German opera singer ( tenor ) and theater director .

Life

Bömly was a trained opera singer, made his debut in the spring of 1834 and made a successful career in the following years. In the years 1835/1836 he belonged to the ensemble in Trier , with whom he also made guest appearances in Bad Kissingen in the summer months .

Later Bömly was theater director at the Herzoglichen Hoftheater in Altenburg (mentioned 1847), in Bamberg (mentioned 1852), Meiningen (mentioned 1854), then in Passau (mentioned 1857/1858) and finally from 1858 to 1864 at the Augsburg Theater . During his tenure as director of the Dessau court theater , he was given the title of "directorship".

At least since about 1855 to 1865 he was in personal union also director of Kurtheater Bad Kissingen . Years before, he had made frequent guest appearances in the spa town with his acting troupe, which included his own family members, for example in 1841, with his Altenburger (1847) and Meininger Ensemble (1854).

From 1865 he directed the Bad Kissinger Kurtheater as well as the theaters in Bamberg and Bayreuth . In 1871 he was replaced by Eduard Reimann as artistic director in Bad Kissingen .
