Fernand Etgen (born March 10, 1957 in Ettelbrück ) is a Luxembourg politician .
Fernand Etgen has been a member of the liberal Democratic Party (DP) since 1979 . At the local level, he was a member of the local council of Feulen from 1979 to 1981 and from 1988 to 1993 . From 1982 to 1987 he was alderman of the community. In 1994 he became mayor, and he held the office until 2013.
In 2007 he became a member of the Luxembourg Parliament for the first time . He has been general secretary of his party since 2010 . In December 2013 he took over the ministerial responsibility for agriculture, viticulture and consumer protection; at the same time he became Minister for Relations between the Bettel-Schneider Government and Parliament. He has been President of Parliament since December 2018 .
