Fernando Fernández Escalante

Fernando Fernández Escalante (born September 1, 1920 in Buenos Aires , † 2005 ) was an Argentine diplomat .

Life

Fernando Fernández Escalante was the son of Luisa Escalante (Walpole) De Villasante and German Fernandez. He studied law and received a doctorate in law . From 1937 to 1945 he was employed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Buenos Aires. From 1946 to 1950 he was the embassy secretary in Uruguay , Belgium and Spain. From 1951 to 1954 he was counselor and chargé d'affaires in Brazil and Colombia . From 1955 to 1956 he was employed at the UN headquarters . From 1956 to 1962 he practiced the profession of lawyer and journalist.

From 1963 to 1968 he worked at Ford Motor Argentina as a manager and general manager. From 1968 to 1973 he was Vice Director of the Banco de la Nación Argentina (National Bank of Argentina) and the Development Bank of Argentina. From 1974 to 1975 he was director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1976 to 1977 he was ambassador to New Delhi . From 1963 to 1976 he held a professorship in business law and was director at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the Universidad Católica Argentina , Buenos Aires.
