Fernando Pascoal Neves , better known under the name Pavão (born August 12, 1947 in Chaves , † December 16, 1973 in Porto ), was a Portuguese football player .

Fernando Pascoal Neves began his career as a teenager with Desportivo de Chaves in his hometown in the Vila Real district near the Portuguese northern border. At the age of seventeen he was signed by FC Porto , for whom he first played in the junior team. He reached the high point of his football career four years later in the 1967/68 season when he won the cup with Porto in the final with a 2-1 win over Vitória Setúbal in the city on the Douro.

In the 13th minute of the 13th game of the 1973/74 season of FC Porto against the same opponent, Pavão, who was known for playing over his opponents with outstretched arms, suddenly fell without the action of an opponent after a pass game to his teammate António Oliveira on the lawn. He was taken from the Estádio das Antas to the São João Hospital, where, despite the resuscitation measures, he could not be saved.
