Fernando Rodríguez (born January 2, 1983 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

society

Depending on the sources, goalkeeper "Gato" Rodríguez, who is 1.79 meters, 1.80 meters or 1.82 meters tall, has been a member of the Uruguayan first division team Defensor since the Apertura in 2002 . In 2007/08 he won the Uruguayan national championship with his team. In the Clausura 2008 he was used three times in the Primera División . In the following season he ran a total of three times in the league. Also in the Clausura 2010 he played two first division games for the "Violets". In the Apertura 2010 three more games in the Primera División followed with his participation. This was followed by a position at league competitor El Tanque Sisley , which he joined for Apertura 2012.

National team

Rodríguez was part of the Uruguayan U-17 selection , which finished third at the U-17 South American Championship in Uruguay in 1999 . In the same year he joined the team coached by Víctor Púa at the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand in 1999 and reached the quarter-finals. There you had to admit defeat Ghana's selection. During the tournament he was not used.
