Telecommunications office
A telecommunications office (abbreviation FZA ) was a facility of the former Deutsche Bundespost authority . The majority of all the required materials were stored there and mainly the telecommunications offices and building districts were supplied from there. Furthermore, telecommunication devices such as telephones were suppressed and completely repaired or overhauled.
tasks
A telecommunications office (FZA) was responsible for the procurement, storage, repair and overhaul of telecommunications equipment (FZ) as well as the dispatch of the same to points of need. A FZA's supply districts comprised closed areas of several telecommunications offices. The number and location of the FZÄ and their supply districts were determined by the Federal Ministry for Post and Telecommunications according to economic and geographic considerations.
The overhaul, repair and modification of certain telecommunications equipment, devices and facilities as well as the procurement and storage of certain objects or groups of objects, provided that these tasks had to be carried out centrally for the federal territory for economic reasons, were the responsibility of a central telecommunications office (FZZA) .
The supply district of the central telecommunications offices (FZZÄ) included all telecommunications offices (FZÄ). Points of need were only supplied in exceptional cases. The number, location and tasks of the FZZÄ were also determined by the Federal Post Office.
organization
Telecommunication offices and central telecommunication offices are divided into the following areas of responsibility:
- Z1 - Administration: this includes office rooms, organizational and business administration offices, personnel, official welfare, property management and machine technology (integration optional).
- Z2 - Household: made up of the household and booking office or master booking office, instruction office, main or branch office.
- Z3 - Warehouse management: subdivided into procurement points, warehouse and dispatch, motor vehicle stations
- Z4 - Technology: Technical department, test fields (only with FZZÄ), district telecommunications workshop (F) (only with FZÄ), central workshop F (only FZZÄ)
For the fulfillment of special tasks, the departments - quality control, technical development with test workshop and card list office - could be set up.
