The Ferrier Peninsula is a narrow and 2.5 km long peninsula that forms the eastern end of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands .
The British navigator James Weddell made a rough chart of the peninsula in 1823. A geodetic survey was carried out in 1903 by participants in the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition under the direction of polar explorer William Speirs Bruce . Bruce named the peninsula after James G. Ferrier, the Scotland-based manager of his expedition.
