They had selected him in the Futures Draft in summer 2012, as did the London Knights from the Ontario Hockey League in the OHL Priority Selection . The winger played a total of nine games for Steel. For the 2013/14 season , Dvorak then joined the London Knights. Although he in his rookie season denied only 33 matches, and 14 points scorer collected, who chose him Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in the second round 58th out.
In the following game year , the attacker celebrated the breakthrough in the OHL. With Max Domi and Mitchell Marner he formed a very successful storm series. With 109 points, he was the team's second-best scorer behind Marner and the fifth-best in the league. He was able to increase these values again in the 2015/16 season , after he had been signed by the Coyotes in April 2015 and made his professional debut in the American Hockey League for the Portland Pirates . Dvorak and Marner got Matthew Tkachuk as a new partner in the storm row after the departure of Domi . The trio led the Knights to win the J. Ross Robertson Cup at the end of the season . Dvorak closed the game year with 121 points scorer, six points behind top scorer Kevin Labanc . With 52 goals, however, he was the top scorer in the league and was appointed to the league's First All-Star team. In the Memorial Cup that followed , the American made a significant contribution to winning the traditional tournament with seven goals.
In the summer of 2016, Dvorak finally switched to the professional field and made the jump into the NHL roster of the Arizona Coyotes at the beginning of the 2016/17 season . There he established himself as a regular scorer over the course of the next two years and as a result signed a new six-year contract with the Coyotes in August 2018, which should bring him an average annual salary of 4.45 million US dollars.
