Ilya Nikolajewitsch Lyubuschkin ( Russian Илья Николаевич Любушкин ; English transcription: Ilya Nikolaevich Lyubushkin ; born April 6, 1994 in Moscow ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Arizona Coyotes from the National Hockey League since May 2018 and for them on the position of the defender plays.
Career
Ilya Lyubuschkin began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown Moscow with HK Spartak . He then worked in the junior department of Metallurg Novokuznetsk , from which he was selected in the 2011 KHL Junior Draft, until the 2011/12 season . During the season he was committed by Lokomotive Yaroslavl , for which he completed his first assignments in the 2013/14 season in the Continental Hockey League (KHL).
In May 2018 he was hired by the Arizona Coyotes via a one-year entry - level contract. On October 7, 2018, the defender made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL).
International
For the Russian U20 team , Ljubuschkin took part in the junior division of the 2014 U20 World Junior Championship in Malmö , Sweden . He was used in seven tournament games and prepared four hits. At the end of the tournament there was a bronze medal. Ljubuschkin later came to the Euro Hockey Tour several times for the senior national team of his home country.
