Ferruccio Cattelani

Ferruccio Cattelani (born March 28, 1867 in Parma , † April 16, 1932 in Milan ) was an Italian composer.

Cattelani studied violin with Lodovico Mantovani in his hometown from 1879 to 1885 . He then worked as Kapellmeister in Rio de Janeiro , Montevideo , Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile . In 1897 he settled in Montevideo as a conductor, violinist and concert organizer.

He composed an opera ( Atahualpa ), a symphony , two violin concertos and other violin pieces, as well as a cantata for the centenary of Argentina's independence.
