Production control station

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A production control station supplements a PPS / ERP system with the area of production control. Modern PPS / ERP systems allow sequence planning for each resource and sometimes also offer optimization options. But only by using a system for production control is it possible to refine the planning down to the last detail according to the actual availability of resources. Production processes are thus managed more flexibly, faster and more efficiently even in the event of disruptions:

A production control center maps the resources available for the provision of services and their actual occupancy. The representation of the individual cost centers in the form of systems , machines or workstations reflects the structure of the production.

The capacity supply presented in this way is compared with the capacity demand broken down into individual processes. Sequences , utilization and meeting deadlines can be planned and tracked on the time axis . Reaction to short-term changes in the reality of capacities or orders can take place quickly.
