Montpellier Festival
The Montpellier Festival , actually Festival de Radio France et Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon , is a large music festival in Montpellier in the south of France , which is organized by the regional capital and Radio France .
history
The festival has been taking place since 1985. The event was initially intended as a festival for classical music , but opened up to other music styles such as jazz , electronic music or world music . With around 115,000 visitors annually, it is now one of the largest music festivals in Europe.
In addition to paid evening events, numerous free concerts are also taking place as part of the festival.
