The fortress Euschels A 1743 (plan number 3068 b2) was a fortification on the border of the Swiss Redoubt at the southwest foot of the Kaiseregg . Euschel's lock point is a military monument of regional importance.

The fortress in the area of ​​the 1st Division consisted of three factories whose crews had the order to block the way from Schwarzsee towards Jaun , the Euschelspass .

The main plant "Gaston 2b" was equipped with two 7.5 cm fortress cannons Fk and machine guns Mg. There is a concrete water collection point above the main plant. A "Gaston 1" command post was integrated into the bunker at the mountain station of the military cable car.

The fortress included two counterworks east ("Gaston 2a") and west ("Gaston 2c") of the main plant, each with a tank rifle Tk (or infantry cannon ) and a machine gun Mg. The command post was armed with light machine guns Lmg.
