Fethi Çokkeser (born January 12, 1959 in Kahramanmaraş ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.
Player career
Çokkeser was born in 1959 in the eastern Turkish city of Kahramanmaraş . Here he began as a twelve year old in the youth of Kahramanmaraşspor with club football. In the summer of 1975 he was included in the squad of the reserve team, then also known as the amateur team. In the reserve team he rose to team captain. In 1980 he was then included in the squad of the 1st team. By participating in the Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi in the summer of 1984 , Çokkeser was part of the team that took part in a professional league for the first time in the club's history. After three years with the professional team Kahramanmaraşspors, he moved to the third division Bitlisspor in the summer of 1985 , but returned to Kahramanmaraşspor after just one season. Here he was loaned to the third division team Pazarcık Aksuspor at the start of the season. For the 1987/88 season he left Kahramanmaraşspor again and this time hired at Reyhanlıspor . In the summer of 1989 he moved to Elbistanspor . Here he was unable to continue his career due to an injury and ended it in 1989.
Coaching career
He started his coaching career just a year after his footballing career ended. As a first activity he trained the amateur club PTTspor and reached championship in the respective amateur league. He then repeated this success with Sağlıkspor .
From 1992, with brief interruptions, he worked as an assistant coach at Kahramanmaraşspor until the summer of 1998. Later he worked for the amateur clubs Telekomspor , Kümbetspor and Maraş Gençlikspor .
In 2000 he attended a coaching course in Trabzon and obtained his A coaching license. He then spent six months at 1. FC Köln and three months at Ajax Amsterdam .
In 2006 he was introduced to the Moroccan club IR Tanger as a sports manager and worked there for five months. In 2007 he then worked at Hassania d'Agadir as head coach.
In 2008 he returned to Turkey and worked at Kahramanmaraşspor as a junior coach. In 2010 he took over the position of assistant coach, but left the club after just three months. In December 2010 he took over Kahramanmaraş Belediyespor and led this club to the playoff victory of Boelgesel Amatoer Ligi in summer 2012 and thus to promotion to the TFF 3rd Lig .
After his success with Kahramanmaraş Belediyespor, he was introduced at Kahramanmaraşspor as head coach. He led this club to the championship of the TFF 2nd Lig 2012/13 and thus to promotion to the TFF 1st Lig . Before the start of the 2013/14 season, he dissolved his contract by mutual agreement and left the club.
In February 2014 Çokkeser took over the fourth division club Yeni Diyarbakırspor .
