Fire brigade access

Officially marked fire service access, Pastor-Könn-Platz, Cologne

A fire brigade entrance is an entrance to objects or properties specially reserved for rescue workers in accordance with fire protection law .

Road users are not allowed to stop or park in front of or in a fire brigade driveway , as there is a stopping ban in accordance with Section 12 (1) of the StVO. The prerequisite for this is that the fire service access is officially marked. The information sign must comply with the regulations of the respective municipality ; from a purely legal point of view, private labeling is not sufficient. As a rule, public buildings are required to provide appropriate access.

Blocked fire service entrances often hinder and delay the fire service . Blocking such an access will result in a fine when reported .

conditions

The model guidelines on areas for the fire brigade , which specify Section 5 of the model building regulations , place the following requirements on fire brigade access roads:

Signage and repression / security

The signage in Germany is different. There are only two that are sanctioned in the event of a violation: The additional signs for the fire service access / fire service access zone and the officially marked fire service access (with the seal of the municipality or fire service). If other signs are violated, measures to avert danger can be taken in the form of moving or pushing away disturbing vehicles.
