The Ffotogallery is the national agency for photography in Wales .

history

The Ffotogallery was founded in 1978 and is now located in two locations. Headquarter is the Chapter Arts Center in the center of the capital Cardiff , while the gallery is in Turner House in Penarth .

The agency is a national organization and as such has an exhibition program with artists from Wales and the rest of the world. The Ffotogallery also has traveling exhibitions as well as collaborations with other organizations and international galleries, as well as workshops.

The Ffotogallery also works with film and video , installation , digital media also play a role.

Important exhibitions

Major projects over the past three decades include The Valleys Project, A470, and Barrage. Also works by photographers such as Keith Arnatt, Josef Koudelka , Peter Finnemore, Willie Doherty, Wendy McMurdo , John Davies , Catherine Yass and Bedwyr Williams . Some of these works are now in the national collections in Wales or have been acquired by the British Council and the Arts Council of Wales .

The director is David Drake (as of 2012).
